I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex two time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
